Book fair, COSI, Moxie Strings and lots more on the elementary school calendar
Elementary book fair week is coming to the Bluffton elementary next week. That’s just one of several events on the end of October and November calendar for students in K-5.
Here’s a summary of activities:
ELEMENTARY BOOK FAIR: The Book Fair will begin the week of Oct. 28. Daily hours will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 8a.m. to 2p.m. on Friday. Family Night is Tuesday, Oct. 29th from 6-8 p.m.
MOXIE STRINGS ASSEMBLIES: The elementary students will be entertained by “The Moxie Strings” on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The Moxie Strings is the electrifying combination of fiddler Diana Ladio, and cellist, Alison Lynn along with percussionist Fritz. Their feel-good melodies and foot-stomping, rock-influenced rhythms put a fresh, fun spin on Celtic and Americana music.
COSI-ON-WHEELS: COSI (Center of Science and Industry) brings its traveling science program Investigating Energy on Tuesday, Nov. 12. This program for grades 3-5 will stimulate the imaginations of students. The day begins with a 45-minute interactive assembly where COSI’s Dr. Kilowatt will use different renewable and nonrenewable resources to power a new invention. This assembly is followed by hands-on activity sessions during which students will test conductors, build circuits and compare the energy usage of household appliances.
P.T.O. NEWS: The PTO obtained new carpet squares for the music teacher, Mrs. Basinger's classroom. Thanks to Diller's in Bluffton and the Lima Bargain Center who donated all of them. If you have not volunteered yet, and would like to for upcoming events such as Book Fair starting, do so by emailing [email protected] or you can also put a note in the PTO mailbox at the Elementary school's office.
