Dec. 13 chamber breakfast and workshop topic: Social Security
Social Security is the theme of the Friday, Dec. 13, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast. A complete, free breakfast will be served from 7 to 7:30 a.m. The breakfast meeting is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall.
Heather Dulle of Protective Life, is the featured speaker. Her topic, “Understanding Social Security,” will explain, among other features:
• How benefits are calculated
• Full retirement age and choosing the right time to file
• Receiving benefits while working
• Provisional income and tax implications
• Options for spouses and ex-spouses
In addition to being the featured breakfast speaker, Dulle will conduct a more personal and indepth workshop on Social Security following the breakfast, at 8:45 a.m. During the workshop persons will be able to ask questions specific to their own retirement situation.

Several additional items are on the December breakfast meeting agenda. Sponsors of the Blaze of Lights will be recognized. Winners of downtown and residential holiday lights will also be recognized. New chamber board members and board members whose terms expire will be recognized.
