It was a winter afternoon in 1965 when this Akron, Canton and Youngstown Railroad freight train derailed in Pandora. According to writing on the backside of the photo Charles Hilty took this photo. This freight was east bound, having left Columbus Grove on its way to Bluffton and further points east. The Fairbanks Morse locomotive was yellow with a black roof. The box car on the far right of the photo, also yellow with red lettering states "Serving Ohio and The Nation." The Pandora grain elevator stands in the background, just east of Jefferson Street.
