Fundraiser Saturday at Southgate benefits Joel Schwartz
A fundraiser for a local family will take place Saturday, Jan. 18, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Southgate Lanes, according to Bethany Harvey.
The event titled “Striking for the Schwartz’s” is a benefit for Joel and Andrea (Orr) Schwartz. Andrea is a 2003 Bluffton High School graduate and is daughter of Denny and Ruth Orr.
Andrea’s husband, Joel, was hospitalized from Nov 21 to Dec. 23 due to an illness. Joel and Andrea have two children, Cara (7, attends Bluffton) and Conner (4).
The bowling event involves a Scotch Doubles Bowling. Although all bowling teams are sold out, the event is open for anyone to attend and participate in several activities including:
6:30 p.m. – Bowling teams will be auctioned off
Buy a team or teams and they get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd and you win the following items:
1st place: You win…Kindle Fire HD
2nd place: You win…Cincinnati Reds Tickets and a $50 gas card
3rd place: You win… Funny Bone-Columbus Tickets, $30 gas card, $10 Graeters card

In addition there are many additional items donated from area businesses and donated by individuals that will be raffled.
Anyone may make a donations and those are accepted Sports Warehouse until noon on Friday, Jan. 17.
