Gerald Seem, 1932-2014
Gerald D. Seem, 81, of Bluffton, died February 18, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 29, 1932, in Bradner, to the late Howard Samuel and Mae Swartz Seem Sr. On October 27, 1953 he married Ruth Hottenstein and she survives.
Gerald retired from the Lima Ford Engine Plant. He was a member of the Gospel Fellowship Church, Rawson.
Survivors include son James Robert (Deborah) Seem of Findlay; daughter Marie Catherine (Scott) Wilkins of Bluffton; four granddaughters, Crystal Seem, Amanda Seem, Jennifer (Michael) Irish, Heather (Jeremy) Hamilton; four great granddaughters, Kate Seem, Shayla Hamilton, Jessica Irish, Sarah Irish; five sisters and brothers, Doris Massey of Fremont, Delores Robinson of Findlay, Morris (Betty) Seem of Perrysburg, Donna Wright of Huntsville, Ala, Patty (Robert) Wollam of Houghton Lake, Mich., former daughter in law, Tammy DeWille of Wapakoneta and a long time friend, Paul Pursell of Columbus Grove. He was preceded in death by six sisters and brothers, Dora Seem, Howard Samuel Seem Jr., Donal Seem, Harold Seem, Carol Ann Seem and Eloise McCoy.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor David Clark and Pastor David Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery, Bluffton. Military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
