Human trafficking subject of Saturday program at Book ReViews
Book ReViews, 115 S. Main St., Bluffton, will host “Rescue and Restore: Human Trafficking – Ohio,” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 19, according to Christina Walton, store manager.
Laurel Neufeld Weaver, rape crisis coordinator of Crime Victim Services is one of presenters.
Jamie Erford, Bluffton High School peer facilitation advisor, along with Aryn Banks, prevention educator with Crime Victim Services, will also be presenters.
Several facts concerning the subject follow:
• Ohio is 4th in nation
• Toledo is a national hub
• Bluffton is on I-75
• Human Ttrafficking is the modern day form of slavery.
• By means of recruiting, abducting, facilitating, transferring, harboring or transporting a person for sale or trade.
• Victims of human trafficking are subjected to force, fraud, or coercion, for the purpose of sexual exploitation or forced labor.
• Victims are young children, teenagers, men and women.
