Two adult running programs offered this sumer at BFR
Training programs for those beginning to run and for those who want to increase speed are being offered by BFR Sports & Fitness, according to Carole Enneking of BFR.
Improve Your Run
Improve Your Run offers six weeks of group training for those individuals who are preparing for competitive races this summer.
Improve Your Run will meet on Monday and Thursday mornings (6 AM or 8:30 AM groups) for six weeks (May 19 through June 26). The program will include outdoor interval track workouts and long aerobic runs to improve performance; access to the BFR indoor track is included as well.
To benefit from the Improve Your Run program participants must be able to run continuously for 20 minutes or more. Lead trainer will be Keri (Hilty) McCoy; cost is $50 ($25 BFR member).
A second session of Improve Your Run will be offered starting July 21 and ending Aug. 29. Registration materials are available online www.bfronline.com, by calling 419-358-4150 or at the center located at 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.
Walk to Run
Individuals who want to learn how to run or want to learn how to better pace their running are encouraged to register for BFR's Walk to Run program.
No prior running experience is required; participants will combine minutes of jogging and walking to progressively work toward a 5K distance. Walk to Run is an eight week training program that meets 6 AM, 8 AM or 7 PM on either Monday and Wednesdays or Tuesday and Thursdays.
Dates for Walk to Run will be July 7 through Aug. 30; ending immediately prior to the Labor Day Weekend 5K in Bluffton. Leader of this year's program is Jaime Combs.
Cost will be $64 ($32BFR member); registration is due by June 25. Registration materials are available online www.bfronline.com, by calling 419-358-4150 or at the center located at 215 Snider Road.
