Jeremy Basinger Mike Liska, Jene Sommers in university cross-cultural experience
Jeremy Basinger, Mike Liska and Jené Sommers are participating in a cross-cultural experience in the Holy Land, May 5-22.
They and other Bluffton University students will survey the geography and archeology of the region by visiting significant biblical and historical sites and by meeting with Israeli and Palestinian people. They will walk where Jesus walked, float in the Dead Sea and eat St. Peter’s fish at the Sea of Galilee.
Basinger and Liska are sophomores at the university, where they are majoring in youth ministries and business administration, respectively. Basinger is the son of Jon and Janice Basinger of Elida, while Liska’s parents are David and Susan Liska of Bluffton.
Sommers, a junior majoring in middle childhood education, is the daughter of Tom and Cindy Sommers of Columbus Grove.
This experience will fulfill Bluffton’s undergraduate cross-cultural requirement that must be completed before graduation. Students can either complete a cross-cultural experience or take six credit hours in one foreign language.
