Village utility bill format changing
Memo to Village of Bluffton utility users:
No more bills using the familiar yellow card system for Bluffton utility users.
Nancy Kindle, Bluffton village fiscal officer, informed the Icon that the village is switching utility bill formats.
AN EXAMPLE OF THE NEW BILL IS IN AN ATTACHMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY.
“It was our intention to switch with the current bill, however, with the water damage at town hall, the printer was ruined and we were not able to print the bills,” she said.
Therefore, this month’s bill (payments due June 10) will be printed in black and white. Next month’s bill (payments due July 10) will be printed in color.
The new billing system will arrive in the U.S. Postal Service mail in an envelope, not via post card. Utility customers will return the bottom section of the bill with payment.
The attachment is an example of the new bill.
Kindle said that due to the water damage in the town hall, the bills due June 10 are going out late. Because of that, the village will be lenient on the June 10 payments.
