Bluffton University grad and family featured in BVHS brochure
A Bluffton University graduate and his family are featured in the brochure from Blanchard Valley Health System that promotes its new regional cancer care center.
Ada resident, David Dellifield, and his wife, Jami, and their two children Nora and Ian, are featured. Peter Suter of Bluffton is a member of the campaign cabinent for the project.
A copy of the brochure is in an attachment at the bottom of this story.
Last week, Colleen Lazar of BVHS updated Bluffton chamber members on the project during the June 13 chamber breakfast.
This winter the BVHS Board of Trustees unanimously approved plans to build a $4.25 million comprehensive regional cancer center, to adjoin the radiation therapy center on the EasternWoods campus in Findlay.
As part of the ongoing commitment by BVHS to offer the best cancer care available, the new center will enhance efforts to cure cancers and provide easy access for patients.
According to Kimberly Benson, director of oncology services, “A comprehensive community cancer center will allow us to consolidate many cancer services in one location and add support services that patients and their loved ones need during cancer treatment and recovery. With this expansion, patients will have one location to receive exceptional cancer care in Findlay, Ohio.”
The comprehensive cancer center expansion comes on the heels of a 2013 investment in a new TrueBeam Linear Accelerator, which offers advanced radiation therapy for some of the most complex cancers. The TrueBeam is one of two advanced linear accelerators used for cancer treatment at Blanchard Valley.
Plans for the new center are currently being developed, and construction is expected in 2014.
