United Way 50/50 winner donates winnings back
Who is Julie? That was the question on Saturday, June 28, prior to the fireworks display at Bluffton University’s Dwight Salzman Stadium when Mayor Judy Augsburger reached her hand into the container to pull the winner of the United Way of Bluffton, Beaverdam and Richland Township 50/50 drawing.
The winning entry was simply listed as "Julie."
Little did anyone know that United Way of Bluffton, Beaverdam and Richland Township Secretary Stacy Stumbaugh was a detective in her past life and quickly uncovered that
Julie was none other than Bluffton University’s very own Dean of Students Julie DeGraw.
Carole Enneking of the BFR sold the ticket to Julie earlier that day at the Bluffton Farmers' Market.
"The United Way of Bluffton, Beaverdam and Richland Township would like to thank Julie as she has graciously donated her winnings of $356.50 back to the United Way of Bluffton, Beaverdam and Richland Township," said Duane Bollenbacher, United Way president.
