Ice cream on the lawn - a Mennonite Home summer tradition
A beautiful summer evening set the tone for over 100 crowd members at Mennonite Memorial Home’s annual “Concert on the Lawn” on Aug. 17.
This year’s concert featured Bob Ford, a musician and storyteller from Cedarville. Residents, family members and community members gathered to enjoy the folk sounds brought by Ford.
Kids, both young and old, enjoyed the sounds and soon learned that you can’t simply listen to Bob play – the melodies are so contagious you can’t help but tap your toes.
The concert became interactive as Ford invited the crowd to sing along as he performed. While enjoying the music, the crowd enjoyed ice cream sundaes scooped by volunteers and staff.
Photos below include volunteers who helped with the event (on the swing), plus photos of the performer and audience.
