New first-year students and transfer students return to campus Friday
About 250 new first-year and transfer students will lead an annual migration to Bluffton University this weekend.
New student move-in, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, will open a weekend on which other undergraduates will come back to Bluffton for the start of classes Monday, Aug. 25.
“Fall Welcome” events are also planned on campus all next week, including the opening convocation at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Sommer Center for Health and Fitness Education. Launching Bluffton’s 2014-15 civic engagement theme, “Education Matters! Learning for Life, Vocation and Responsible Citizenship,” will be guest speaker Dr. Ken Bain, whose book, “What the Best College Students Do,” was this year’s summer reading for first-year Bluffton students.
