Bluffton men drop 3-0 decision to Little Giants
CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Bluffton University men's soccer team (0-1) fell to Wabash (1-0) by a 3-0 final in the 2014 season opener after lightning ended the contest with just over five minutes to play.
Senior Peter Carlson (Toledo/Springfield) and junior Adrian Ramirez (Archbold) both put shots on frame, but Wabash finished with a marked 17-9 edge in attempts, including 9-2 on target.
The home team scored twice in the opening period and capped the 3-0 victory with a goal in minute 60. Matt Hardman-Zimmerman (Forest City, Penn.) collected two saves in the start and fellow sophomore Jeff Yoder (Goshen, Ind./Bethany Christian) turned back three attempts in stanza two.
Bluffton will regroup with a trip to Cleary University on Sunday, August 31. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. in the second contest of a women's and men's doubleheader.
