Swavel named HCAC Football Player of Week
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University senior linebacker Brad Swavel (Marion/Ridgedale) led the Beavers in a 32-20 loss at Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on defense.
The senior racked up a career-high 15 tackles and added one tackle for loss and half a sack on Saturday. It marks the second consecutive week that the Beavers have had an HCAC Player of the Week on the gridiron. Eric Fox took home Offensive Player of the Week honors after churning out an NCAA-best 221 yards against Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Bluffton (0-2, 0-0 HCAC) will kick off the conference schedule at Franklin on Saturday, Sept. 27, after a bye week.
