School board will act on purchase of Triplett parking lot at tonight's board meeting
The Bluffton school board will act on the purchase of approximately 2.23 acres of property along Triplett Drive-Harmon Road at its Monday night meeting.
The property is the parking lot of the former Triplett Corp. The land extends from East College Avenue to the north edge of the Steinmetz Soccer Field. The purchase price is $50,000.
The current owner is TCG Coating, LLC, affiliated with Diamond Manufacturing of Bluffton and Colonial Surface Solutions. Colonial purchased the entire former Triplett complex earlier this year. The school’s main interest in the property is parking for athletic events at Harmon Field and Steinmetz Field.
The land is identified by the Allen County Auditor’s office as Permanent Parcel No. 28-1206-09-003.00
In other action, the board will act on:
• the acceptance for Bob Holt’s resignation as school maintenance supervisor as of Dec. 31. The board will also enter executive session to interview candidates for the opening.
• the appointment of Elizabeth Hostetler to a seven-year term on the Bluffton Public Library Board.
• several supplemental contracts involving basketball coaches.
• several substitute teaching contracts.
• certificate advancements for Elizabeth Corley, Jamie Erford, Vicki Garmon and Alex Hanna.
The board will also act to approve an overnight outdoor trip to Camp Berry in Arlington, for seventh graders during the week of Oct. 13. Each group attending will stay two nights each.
These and other board information are in the board’s agenda, which is an attachment at the bottom of this story.
