BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Heartland Conference has announced its All-HCAC awards for the 2014 campaign. Three Beavers were recognized by the conference coaches for their work on the pitch this season. Junior Ryan Johnson-Evers (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) and senior Peter Carlson (Toledo/Springfield) took home Second Team honors, while senior Jordan Andrews (Clinton Township, Mich./Chippewa Valley) was selected Honorable Mention All-HCAC.

Bluffton's glue in the back, Johnson-Evers helped the Beavers limit Heartland Conference opponents to an all-time low 12 goals this season. He has been a mainstay in the lineup from his first day at Bluffton, starting all 51 matches the Beavers have played during that time. Johnson-Evers netted his first career goal and assist this season, tallying three points on seven shots while helping Bluffton win five more matches than it did in 2013 along with its most conference victories since 2008.

Senior Peter Carlson was well on his way to one of Bluffton's finest offensive outputs in recent history when a knee injury ended his season prematurely with five matches to play. Despite missing six contests this year, Carlson equaled fellow senior T.J. Kline (Mogodore) for high-scoring honors with six goals on the season. He still finished tied for seventh in the conference with those six tallies. Carlson fired 21 shots, including two game-winners and a penalty kick as Bluffton went 6-13 overall. He finished his career with 12 goals and two assists for 26 total points while posting three game-winners in 63 matches (56 starts).

Another starter from day one as a freshman, Jordan Andrews secured his third consecutive All-Heartland Conference award. Andrews was All-HCAC Second Team as a sophomore before Honorable Mention selections as a junior and senior. He has started all 69 contests that the Beavers have been a part of during his four years at Bluffton. Andrews pushed forward more as the year wore on, taking 16 shots in 2014 while chipping in with the first two assists of his career.

In conjunction with the All-HCAC selections, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference also announced the All-HCAC Sportsmanship Team for the fall of 2014. Senior T. J. Kline was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team from Bluffton. This award has been developed as part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative. Members of the All-HCAC Sportsmanship team are selected by the coaches and their teammates as individuals who demonstrate the ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field/court of competition.
