Jammin' at the Library Monday night - here's what it's all about
Jammin' at the library (Bluffton Public Library) Monday, March 9, 6 p.m.
Q: What's Jammin' all about?
A: We asked Charlie Saylor and here's his response:
Briefly, the idea behind this is to provide a place for folks interested in acoustic music to get together and share some songs. It's intended to be for absolutely anyone who likes, sings, and/or plays.
It's open to all ages and any skill level and any genre (folk, traditional, acoustic rock, cowboy, country, singer/songwriter, Celtic, whatever). The idea is to keep it very informal; it's not intended to be a performance--more of a sitting-around-the-campfire idea than an open-mike or on-stage event.
We don't really have any format established at this point and the idea is to let this evolve and we'll see where it goes.
We really want this to be casual so novices feel as comfortable as old-timers. A person can come with a whole repertoire or a single song, playing by heart or working from a song book. The idea is for this to be a place for people to come and share an interest in music, to learn and have fun.
