Here comes a parade and you'll love this one
Everybody loves a Bluffton parade, and several local groups are preparing for a big one this month.
"Hometown Amerifest" Committee invites (float or other display entries) in its parade planned Saturday, June 26. The parade in held in conjunction with the Bluffton Lions Club Wheels Fest', Relay for Life and the Bluffton-Pandora Rotary Club's traditional Freedom Fest'. This year the three event are on the same weekend.
"We have nearly 50 registrants so far, but would like to boost that number significantly. Our annual Blaze of Lights parade has grown to over 75 entries and we hope to surpass that mark," said Junior Weihrauch, parade coordinator.
Anyone interested in placing an entry in the parade should contact Weihrauch at 419-365-5304, or fill out the parade invitation form (click here for form).
The parade will start at noon, Saturday, June 26. The parade route follows:
oBluffton High school football field area to Main Street
oMain Street, from College Avenue to Elm Street (at the town hall)
oElm Street, passed Mennonite Memorial Home.
oElm to Bentley Road (university football field)
oBentley to Bluffton University Buildings and Grounds parking lot
Bluffton University radio station will announce the parade live, allowing parade participants to benefit from name recognition on the radio. The Bluffton Icon plans to air a view of the parade when it is concluded.
