Moderator selected for Bluffton mayoral candidate forum; event moved to Middle School
Stanley Scott, Bluffton University adjunct faculty member, will moderate the Bluffton mayoral candidate forum on Wednesday, Oct. 28, according to the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, forum sponsor.
The forum, open to the public, originally scheduled for the Bluffton town hall, has moved to the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium to allow for a larger audience than the town hall can accommodate. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the forum starts at 7:30 p.m.
Bluffton candidates for mayor in the Tuesday, Nov. 3, general election are Judy Augsburger, Jerry Cupples and David Steiner.
The forum’s format includes a brief introduction by each candidate. Following that, Scott will moderate the program asking questions provided in advance by members of the Bluffton chamber.
Scott holds a master’s of public affairs degree from Indiana University. At Bluffton he teaches American Political Process.
He is a founding partner of CIVICUS Associates, a consulting practice, whose clients include government, education, non-profit, small business and community organizations.
He is a senior associate with Business Mediation Services, which addresses stresses of change and conflict. He is creator of Talk-In-A-Box, a non-competitive conversation game designed to open lines of communication. He also has experience in city management while he was in Longmont, Colo., and Wichita, Kan.
