Volleyball: Kevin King named NWC coach of the year
Kevin King of Bluffton was voted NWC Coach of the Year by his peers in voting that took place earlier this week. Bluffton finished 5-3 in the NWC and 10-12 overall in a rebuilding year for the Pirates.
Bluffton players, Andie Schmutz, junior, was named to the first team, Haley Baker, junior, to the second team and Sami Fruchey, senior, honorable mention.
Ada sophomore Melina Woods was voted the 2015 Northwest Conference “Player of The Year” at a meeting of conference volleyball coaches in Delphos. Woods had also earned first team honors as a freshman in last year's balloting.
Ada and Paulding finished the year as co-champs in the league with identical 7-1 records in league play.
