D3Football Team of Week I All-time honorees
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University freshman ISAAC ZICKAFOOSE (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) has been named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week following his outstanding performance in Bluffton's 44-0 win over Anderson University on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015. It marks the third time in the past two years that a member of Coach Dorrel's defense has earned this recognition!
Senior Brad Swavel (Marion/Ridgedale) was named to the D3Football Team of the Week after he finished with nine tackles to go along with an interception, a forced fumble, a breakup and a fumble recovery in Bluffton's 31-17 victory at Rose-Hulman on October 11, 2014. Ollie Moorer made it back-to-back weeks when he lit up Earlham with four fourth quarter sacks and a forced fumble in Bluffton's 24-22 win at Earlham last season.
The defense made huge plays throughout he game in order to keep the shutout streak alive, but nobody had a bigger day than Zickafoose with his eight
tackles, three sacks and four TFL’s. His sacks set Anderson back 30 yards, while his four TFL's went for 36 in reverse.
Bluffton dominated the statistics with 550 yards of offense, compared to just 83 yards for the Ravens. The Beavers limited AU to -9 yards rushing. It marked the first time since joining the HCAC that a Bluffton defense held an opponent to negative yardage on the ground. The 83 total yards given up was the best defense since Hiram went for 67 yards in 2002. Zickafoose paved the way for the Beavers to cap off a memorable Senior Day in which Bluffton's seniors went four years without surrendering a point to Anderson!
Bluffton hits the road to finish out the season against the Defiance College Yellow Jackets this weekend. The rivalry contest for 'The Hammer' is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, with the kickoff slated for 1:30 p.m. Click on Live Stats to follow the game on your computer or other mobile device.
