Icon viewers:
I am applying for the vacant council seat for the term expiring December 31, 2017. I have resided in the Village of Bluffton for more than one year and I am an elector as required by the Ohio Revised Code.
Education and qualifications:
I am a graduate of Bluffton High School, Bluffton College and I am a Certified Public Accountant. I was elected to five terms as Clerk - Treasurer in unopposed elections. After the end of my service as Clerk -Treasurer I ran for a Council seat in 2009 receiving the most votes of the five candidates for the four open seats. I have served on the Safety Services, Personnel, Utilities, and finance committees. I have extensive experience in both creating and reviewing village budgets. I have also been a representative to the joint water advisory board. I was Clerk- Treasurer when the Ottawa water contract was negotiated. I have first-hand knowledge oft hecontents of the contract and created the rate calculation format required by the contract.
Motive for service:
All of my service to the village has been a labor of love for my home town. I am very proud of our village and want to continue my service.
David R. Steiner
