Elementary Christmas service project collects $1,735 - here's an update on elementary winter programs
Lots of events are in progress at the Bluffton Elementary in January and February. Some of that information follows (open the attachment at the bottom of this story for the January elementary newsletter, which lists additional items.)
ELEMENTARY CHRISTMAS SERVICE PROJECT: The “Coins for Kids” project was a huge success. The elementary collected $1,735.39 to purchase gifts for three needy families in our community.
ELEMENTARY MEMORY BOOKS: An elementary Memory Book for the 2015-2016 school year is on sale until Feb. 11. The price is $18 per Memory Book or it may be purchased as a hardcover for $23. Additional options are available. An informational flyer was sent home with students this week.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION: It’s time to think about Kindergarten for the 2016-2017 school year. Any child who will be five years old by Aug. 1, 2016, is eligible to enroll. In order to develop a Kindergarten mailing list, contact the elementary office at 419-358-7951.
The following in needed: child’s name, birth date, parents’ names, address, and phone number. You may send the information via email to [email protected]. All children are required to have their immunizations, before starting school.
The Allen County Health Department provides immunizations but appointments must be made. Their website is: allencountyhealthdepartment.org. More information will be mailed home to future kindergarten students on our mailing list and in future Student Newsletters.
P.T.O NEWS: Bakery Bingo takes place Saturday, Jan. 30. Parents may donate items to your child's classroom themed basket now thorugh Jan. 22. The PTO also accepts taking donations for baked goods.
The PTO keepd track of each item donated to a classroom basket and baked goods and your child's teacher has a chance to win classroom cash. If you plan to donate, please mark your items clearly with the child's teacher name. Bring it to the school on the day of the event between 2-6 p.m.
Persons interested in volunteering go to the volunteerspot.com type in Bluffton PTO Bakery Bingo and a list will come up with the spots we need filled. Persons with questions may contact Tammy Whitlow or Crystal Camper. Continue to save box tops, community market receipts, our family UPCS, ink toner/cartridges, Labels for Education.
