65 years later: 1951 and 2016 photos
Here's Bluffton High School in the winter at the corner of Main and College. The photo on the left, in black and white, with a 1941 (?) Chevrolet coupe parked on Main, is from the 1951 BHS yearbook.
The Icon's attempt to photography the same scene is the result on the right in color. At the bottom of this story you will find individual photos from 1951 and 2016.
What's different? - Not a much.
1951
• Notice the gym windows still exist
• The 1911 wing of the high school peeks into the photo on the far left
• There's a much taller flag pole (too bad it's not view with 48 stars)
• The public library has its own entrance with a white sign in front of the door
• Trees growing along the curb
2016
• Different flag pole and fire hydrant
• Gym windows covered, and library windows partially covered
• 1911 addition gone - replaced with 1980s addition
• Brick marquee sign in front
