Her shop, Studio Silhouette, is now open at 103 N. Main St., Bluffton. It is housed in the building with Bluffton Barbers (in front), and Wessler Engineering (in the rear).
Davis has expanded the businesses and it now offers:
• Consignment boutique for formal and semi-formal dresses and accessories
• Tailoring and custom seam stressing
• Tuxedo rentals
She explained that the consignment boutique features dresses and accessories on a rotating basis for six to 12 months. All consignment items are pre-owned. They range in size from 0 to 26.
As a seamstress, Davis specializes in bridle and formal wear, but also handles casual clothing. She does not work with outerwear or home décor.
Tuxedos are from Jim’s Formal Wear and the shop offers a wide variety of suits and tuxes, with an option to purchase these.
Hours are:
• Mondays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Wednesdays closed
• Thursdays 4 to 8 p.m.
• Fridays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The business phone number is 419-306-6888.
Davis will be introduced during the Friday, Feb. 12, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce 7 a.m. breakfast in the town hall.
Friday open house
The shop will have an open house on Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at noon. Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs is assisting in the open house, as Davis was the 2014 BCE Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition. Refreshments will be served at the open house.
A second open house, designed for high school students, is Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs will provide a $25 chamber gift certificate as a door prize in the afternoon.
During the afternoon open house all prom dresses are 10 percent off.
Davis and her husband, Nathan, are parents of three children, Caleb, 9, a third grader, Braden, 4, and Lydia, 3. Nathan is employed by the Allen County Engineer’s Department.
