Josephine Cheney funeral service Saturday
Josephine Melvina Cheney, 85, died Feb. 9, 2016, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Josephine was born Aug. 7, 1930 in Beaverdam to the late Thomas and Gertrude (Meeks) White. In December 1946, she married Earl K. Cheney Sr. who preceded her in death in July 2001.
Josephine had worked in the laundry department at Richland Manor. She had also worked at ExCello-Airfoil Textron and Triplett Corp., both of Bluffton. She attended Rockport United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Kenny (Penny) Cheney of Calumet, Michigan, Daniel (Dave Miklos) Cheney of Lima; three daughters, Judy (Jerry) Kiracofe of Columbus Grove, Mary (Jerry) Kloeppel of Ada, Nancy (Chris Cole) Cheney of Pandora; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a sister, Wilma Bailey of Alger.
Josephine was preceded in death by three sisters, Roberta Stevenson, Ruth Meeker, Betty Lou White; and two great great grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday Feb. 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Burial will be in Rockport Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kidney Services of West Central Ohio.
