Dan Maynard Gleason, 76, died March 28, 2016, at 6:04 a.m. at the Cleveland Clinic.  Dan was born May 21, 1939 in Bluffton to the late Clarence Michael and Mildred (Zahrend) Gleason.  On August 31, 1958 he married Jean Arnold Gleason who survives.

Dan was a heavy equipment operator for Degan Excavating.  He was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers.  He was a member of the Pleasant View United Church of the Brethren, Lima, where he was a board member, deacon, treasurer and Sunday School superintendent. 

He was a graduate of Bluffton High School and was a member of the National Guard. 

Survivors also include two sons, Mike (Sandy) Gleason, Scott (Tiffany) Gleason both of Bluffton; two daughters, Cindy (Jim) Vasill of Graytown, Ohio, Dawn (Russ) Kuhlman of Ottawa, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, Jared (Kristina) Gleason, Tyler (Ashley) Gleason, Whitney (Nick) Hines, Levi Gleason, Shane Picklesimer, Craig Picklesimer, Abbie (Bob) Keaton, Jimmy (Nicole) Vasill, Amanda Vasill, Kelby Kuhlman, Cameron Kuhlman, Zach Kuhlman; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Kyle) Gleason of Georgia and a sister, Marlene Kindle of Lima.

Services will be held Thursday March 31, at 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren near Lima.  Pastor Les Bartley officiating.  Burial will be in Lewis Grove Cemetery following the service.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Church of the Brethren or the West Ohio Food Bank.
