Softball: Pirates blank Rockets 19-0
The Bluffton High School softball team blasted past Pandora-Gilboa in a 5 inning shutout at Pandora Friday evening 19 to 0. Pi
The senior leaders Sami Fruchey and Taylor Monday combined for the win. Sami started in the circle and had 4 strikeouts in 4 innings pitched. Taylor Monday stepped up during the 5th inning and struck out 1 batter and had 1 assist. At the plate Sami fired 2 singles with 2 walks and 3 runs. She also had 1 putout while at first base in the 5th inning. Taylor also fired 2 singles with 2 walks and 3 runs plus 2 RBI's and 1 stolen base. While at first base she had 5 putouts in the first 4 innings.
Juniors Abbie Parkins and Jazmynn Wilson had outstanding performances. Abbie had 1 single, 1 double, 2 walks, 3 runs, 4 RBI's and 2 assists. Jazymnn had with 1 single, 1 triple, 1 walk, 3 runs, 5 RBI's and 1 assist. The lone sophomore, Aimee Ritter, hit 1 double which led to 2 RBI's and 1 run.
The freshman also were impressive. Katie Prater had 1 single, 1 double, 2 walks, 3 RBI's, 2 runs, 5 putouts and 1 assist. Averey Rumer had 3 singles, 2 walks, 3 runs, 1 stolen base, 2 putouts and 1 assist. Ameri Siferd hit a single for an RBI, Mara Minning earned 1 RBI, scored 1 run and a great catch in left field, Bailey Edwards walked once and had a catch in center field.
