Clifford Harris 1920-2016
Clifford Alton Harris, 95, died April 20, 2016, at his residence. Clifford was born May 19, 1920, in Vanlue, Ohio, to Charles and Bertha (Beck) Harris who preceded him in death. On Dec. 30, 1939, he married Thelma Cupp Harris who preceded him in death on May 8, 2009.
Clifford retired from Dana Corporation in Lima. He was an avid carpenter, was a master craftsman and fisherman. Clifford was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra (John) Wise of Lima; a son, Larry Harris of Perry, Florida; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Clifford was preceded in death by a son, Gary Harris; one grandchildren; one great grandchild, two brothers, Wilbur and Bob Harris; and three sisters, Nina, Mina and Fina.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Pastor Tim Wilmetti officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
