David Orr was retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant after working 40 years
David Clare Orr, 81, died April 27, 2016 at Bluffton Hospital. David was born April 23, 1935, in Flint, Mich., to the late Clifton and Arlene (Blackmer) Orr. On March 29, 1968, he married Judy Burkholder Orr who survives.
David retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant after 40 years. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. David was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
Survivors also include five brothers, Dennis (June) Orr of Beaverdam, Robert (Mary) Orr of Burke, Virginia, John (Diane) Orr of Manchester, New Hampshire, Dwight (Carol) Orr of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Cliff (Marcella) Orr of Rawson, Ohio; a sister in law, Martha Orr of North Olmsted, Ohio; a brother in law, Dale Goecke of Beaverdam and several nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by three sisters, Erma Orr, Patricia Gauthier, Mary Cheryl; two brothers Gerald Orr, Terry Orr; a special nephew, Jeffrey Burkholder; and a sister in law, Linda Goecke.
Services will be held Saturday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Burial with military rites will be in Woodland Cemetery, Beaverdam following the service. Visitation will be Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or the American Alzheimers Association.
