Eloise Schick was a 1939 graduate of Lafayette-Jackson HS
L. Eloise Schick, 94, died May 10, 2016, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born Jan. 2, 1922 in Allen County, Ohio to the late Chancey J. and Lulu (Doty) Spallinger.
Eloise graduated from LaFayette-Jackson High School in 1939. On June 17, 1941, she married Harold P. Schick. They celebrated over 64 years of marriage before his death on May 6, 2006.
Eloise was a hard working housewife who lived the farm life until moving into Bluffton in the early 1990s.
Eloise is survived by a daughter Rosella (Dwight) Hassan of Ada; a son Roger (Judy) Schick of Lima; three grandchildren Joseph (Deb) Schick of Wapakoneta, Jodi Hassan of Ada; Rebecca (Ian) Fontaine of Pataskala, Ohio; four great grandchildren, David, Kara, Rachael and Jared Schick; six step great grandchildren, Than, Rea, Annika, Daphne, Tirane and Jalen Bowersock; two step great great grandchildren Zayne and Patton; two sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Spallinger of Lima and Alice Spallinger of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lynn Schick; three brothers, Gerald, Howard and Donald Spallinger; and a great grandson, Michael Fontaine.
The family will receive friends on Saturday May 14, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton from 10 a.m. to noon.
A memorial service will be held at noon at the funeral home. William Herr officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Westpoint Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Bluffton, or Mennonite Memorial Home.
