Jamey Rettig, a 2016 Cory-Rawson High School graduate, is recipient of a $2,500 Building our Future Scholarship from Habitat for Humanity of Ohio.

The award was presented in recognition of our outstanding work in the classroom and her service to the Findlay community.

Scholarships are available to students of families in homes built or repaired by Habitat for Humanity. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the classroom and through public service.

Rettig will attend Wittenberg University and pursue a degree in education.

Ryan Miller, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Ohio, said, “We were very fortunate to have an anonymous donor provide funding to establish this important scholarship fund for students interested in attending college, university or trade school.”

He added that this is the first year for the scholarship fund.

Wendy McCormick, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Findlay/Hancock County, wished Rettig well at Wittenberg.

“Her dream is to teach in Hancock County and have a positive impact on future generations,” she added.
