Oct. 7 Colloquium: “In This World but Not of It: Literary Fiction and Spiritual Conflict,” Friday Colloquium by Jamie Lyn Smith, assistant professor of English, 4 p.m., Stutzman Lecture Hall
Oct. 11 Forum: “Complicating Public Perceptions of the Amish,” Forum presentation by Saloma Miller Furlong, author and speaker, 11 a.m., Yoder Recital Hall
Oct. 11 Forum: “Politics from the Inside, Looking Out,” Forum presentation by Charles Miller, Bluffton student, Hamilton, Ohio, 11 a.m., reading room, Musselman Library
Oct. 15 Homecoming: Football vs. Hanover, 1:30 p.m., Salzman Stadium, $5 for adults, $3 for youth, free for children age 4 and under
Oct. 15 Artist Reception: “Silent Treatment,” art by Bluffton faculty Andreas Baumgartner, Jim Fultz, T.R. Steiner and Philip Sugden, 10 a.m.-noon
Oct. 16 Concert: Camerata, University Chorale and Concert Band, 2:30 p.m., Yoder Recital Hall
Oct. 18 Forum: “#ProtectRefugees: The Criminalization of Immigrants in the Unites States,” Alumni Forum presentation by Luz Varela ’15, legal assistant, Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, 11 a.m., Yoder Recital Hall
Oct. 21 Colloquium: “Language, Culture and Power: Bilingual Education and Cultural Survival in Guatemala,” Friday Colloquium by Paul Neufeld Weaver, director of cross-cultural programs, 4 p.m., Stutzman Lecture Hall
Oct. 25 Forum: “Accidental Career,” Alumni Forum presentation by Luke Shipp ’04, vice president of commercial insurance, First Insurance Group, 11 a.m., Yoder Recital Hall
Oct. 27 Forum: “Israeli and Palestinian Parents Grieve and Work Together for Justice,” evening Forum presentation by George and Najwa Sa’adeh and Rami Elhanan, 7 p.m., Stutzman Lecture Hall
Oct. 27 Concert: Artists series performance by Vienna Piano Trio, 7:30 p.m., Yoder Recital Hall; reserved seats are $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and non-Bluffton students, $10 for children ages 6-13, and free for children ages 5 and under
