Women's Soccer falls 3-0 to Earlham

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Earlham College Quakers scored two first half goals and added another in the second period for a 3-0 victory on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016. Bluffton slipped to 0-6 overall and 0-1 in the Heartland Conference, while Earlham (1-7, 1-0 HCAC) picked up its first win of the season.
Skylar Liming (St. Marys/Memorial) fired a match-high six shots, including four on target. Juniors Brittany Huff (Union/Northmont) and Katelyn Gardella (Troy/Miami East) added three attempts apiece. Freshman keeper Kayla Penrod (Marysville) notched five saves for the Beavers. Cherrah Bradley was the story for Earlham, scoring a goal and assisting on the other two as Earlham posted the 3-0 win.
Both team finished with 16 shots. Earlham was whistled for eight fouls, compared to five for the home team. The Quakers forced four more corner kicks (7-3).
Bluffton travels to rival Defiance College on Wednesday, Oct. 5, for a matchup with the Yellow Jackets. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
