McFarlin named Volleyball Player of Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University standout MacKenzie McFarlin (Ashland) has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week after pushing the Beavers to a perfect 2-0 mark with conference victories at rival Defiance on Wednesday and over Transylvania in the Sommer Center on Saturday afternoon.. It marks her fourth career HCAC Player of the Week honor, including her second of the season.
McFarlin recorded a .393 hitting percentage and a ridiculous 6.67 kills per set while the Beavers defeated Defiance and Transylvania last week. She drove home 40 kills while adding two blocks, three aces, and nine digs in the wins. The senior fashioned a .474 hitting percentage in Saturday’s victory over the Pioneers thanks to a whopping 21 kills with just three errors. McFarlin also eclipsed 1,200 career kills on Saturday, moving up to 8th on the all-time list with 1,206 putdowns as a Beaver!
