Former Bluffton teacher will head Hicksville schools
Former Bluffton resident and teacher in the Bluffton school system, Jesse Steiner accepted an offer of a three-year contract as superintendent of Hicksville Exempted Village Schools earlier this week.
He replaces Dr. Kevin Miller, who has accepted the superintendent position at Ottawa Hills. Steiner's contract runs from Aug. 1-July 31, 2013.
Steiner has been in education for 15 years and comes to Hicksville from Elmwood Schools. There he has was as middle school principal. He also served as its current interim superintendent. He and his wife, Christa, have three daughters, Casey, Erin and Mattilyn.
According to a story in the Defiance Crescent News, Steiner was among18 applicants for the post.
