The entire solar system came to Bluffton on Nov. 10. It even fit in the elementary multi-purpose room.

If you have an elementary child in your household, your child will gladly explain how this occurred.

If not, accept this explanation: COSI-on-Wheels brought it all to Bluffton with its Astounding Astronomy program.

And, elementary youth immersed themselves with science without even realizing it.

During the day stations set up and focused on:
• Alien eyes using color filters
• Mighty minerals and cool crystals with microscopes and magnifying glasses
• Planetary rotation where students became planets to understand rotation
• Remotely operated vehicles with students navigating vehicles on distant planets
• Spec-tacular examining how different gases burn
• Stellar stories piecing together constellations
• Under pressure observing atmospheric pressure on planets
• Weighting on the world using weights and scales to see how your weight on Earth is different elsewhere.
