Ruth Rader-Schumacher 1923 - 2016
Ruth J. Rader-Schumacher, 93, died Nov. 29, 2016, at 6:40 a.m. at Heritage Manor, Findlay. Ruth was born Feb. 7, 1923 in Mt. Blanchard to the late Wilson and Mary (Kempf) Bergman. On Dec. 3, 1939, she married Walter Rader who preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1985. She later married Clyde Schumacher on Jan. 16, 1988 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2009.
Ruth was a homemaker and had been a baker at Bluffton College. She was a member of Bethel Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons, Dwight (Norma) Rader of Bluffton, Robert Dwaine (Barbara) Rader of Hamilton, Ohio, Darwin (Kay) Rader of Ankeny, Iowa, and Kenneth Rader of Lima; a step-daughter Betty Heldman; nine grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by three sisters, Ida Reiter, Mabel Stemen, Esther Cramer; a daughter in law, Martha Rader; and a grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor David Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery near Mt. Cory following the service. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Church of Christ.
