Roger and Jo Edwards, Harlan and Pat Basinger honored
Two Bluffton couples earned special honors from the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association in December, according to Tonya Meyer, director.
Roger and Jo Edwards and Harlan and Pat Basinger were named Volunteers of the Year. The association board based the award on “their hard work to make the center a better place.” The awards were presented during the December dinner meeting.
The Center has several other announcements at the close of the year.
The January potluck meal is at noon, Monday, Jan. 9, at the center. Connie Kruse of Town and Country Flowers will give a demonstration on flower arranging.
The center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, (new year’s) but will remain open on Monday, Jan. 16 (Martin Luther King Day).
January is the month for members to renew their association membership. Dues are only $18 a year. Dues may be mailed to the center at 132 N. Main St., or persons may stop in and pay.
A Medicare Advantage program will be presented at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18. Advantage offers extra coverage including vision, hearing, dental and or health and wellness programs. Representatives of Mass Mutual will give the program.
