Here's this week's free "Keeping Activity" opportunities at BFR
A free class of Total Body Conditioning will be offered at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, at Bluffton Family Recreation.

It's part of this winter’s Keeping Active program of free activities.
From Jan. 16 through Feb. 24 BFR offers free fitness, physical activity, nutrition and general wellness events for youth through seniors, according to Joseph Beagle, BFR director.
Here's this week's free programming schedule:
Monday - Jan. 30
• Free walking
5:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Wednesday - Feb. 1
• All star workout
8:30 - 9:30 a.m.
• Silver Sneakers class
9:45 -10:45 a.m.
Thursday - Feb. 2
• Free class Total Body Conditioning
7:30 a.m.
Friday - Feb. 3
• Free walking
5:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
• Free Play Adult basketball
Noon - 1 p.m.
Saturday - Feb . 4
• Free family event
• 8:30 - 10 a.m.
Here's a description of the Free Total Body Conditioning Class -
offered Thursday, Feb . 2 at 7:30 a.m.
Benefits include improved mobility, cardiovascular health, improved strength, improved agility and some flexibility.
Matt Wannemacher leads TBC classes Mondays through Fridays at 7:30 a.m. at BFR. The class lasts approximately 45 minutes with about five minutes of warm ups and 15 minutes of cool downs.
“This class is free for BFR members or $6 each visit for non-members. Anyone may join the class at anytime,” said Wannemacher.
“I have been always been involved in exercise in my own personal life,” he said, explaining his interest in leading TBC classes.
TBC offers several positives for individual’s all-around general health.
“Benefits include improved mobility, cardiovascular health, improved strength, improved agility and some flexibility,” he said.
Some classes will be in a H.I.I.T. format (High Intensity Interval Training).
“Basically, we perform an exercise at a high level for a short time (15-30 seconds) and take a short break (10-20 seconds) then move on the to the next exercise,” Wannemacher explained.
Wannemacher is currently working on his undergraduate degree in exercise science with a focus on strength and conditioning.
He plans to further his education after upon graduation.
