Anxious to start gardening? You are not alone
Like many Icon viewers, Victoria Zeits of the Gardeners of Bluffton and Pandora says that the crazy winter weather makes her feeel that either winter has yet to begin or she should instead be watching for spring bulbs to start blooming.
She says that she's visited her herb garden and observed 14 green things coming up that should be under a couple inches of snow.
Despite the weather, there are several opportunities for gardeners to get moving in anticipation of spring.
Those events follow, provided by the Gardeners of Bluffton and Pandora Area follow:
Tuesday, March 7 - 6:30 p.m. Bluffton Public Library - "Seed Starting." Guest speakers are Susie and Steve Stratton, owners of Stratton's Greenhouses. Program is arranged by the Gardeners of the Bluffton/Pandora Area. Free and open to the public.
March 7-April 25 – Master Gardener Volunteer Training for Allen, Hardin, and Hancock will be held together at the OSU - Lima Campus. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Contact the Extension Office at www.allen.osu.edu. Deadline to register is Feb. 20.
Saturday, March 18 – Kick Off to Spring “Thyme.” Gardens at Gantz Symposium in Grove City. 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. - $45. Gardens at Gantz office 614-871-6323
