Spring birding event March 3 in Findlay
Discover the joys of spring birding this in northwest Ohio as the Hancock Park District offers the first 2017 Bird Monitoring outing on Friday, March 3, at 1 p.m. at Litzenberg Memorial Woods.
This hands-on in-the-field approach to monitoring environmental changes is one of the ways Hancock Park District volunteers experience a wide range of physical and mental activities.
Participants are invited to bring binoculars as well as cameras as there will be excellent photo opportunities during the hike. All skill levels are welcome; first-time birders can learn about birds or veteran bird watchers can become better at identifying their feathered friends.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required to this free program. Please be prepared for weather, ground conditions, and at least 1 ½ - 2 ½ hours on the trails.
Litzenberg Memorial Woods is located at 6100 U.S. Route 224, west of Findlay. For more information about other upcoming park programs and events, view the HPD Seasonal Program & Event Guide at www.HancockParks.com under the “What’s New?” section, visit the park “Calendar” or call the park office at 419-425-7275.
