Civic Engagement Day to explore creativity, the arts and civic life
The community is invited to the culminating event for Bluffton University’s annual Civic Engagement Day. “Encore! A Celebration of Creativity and the Arts” will begin at 8 p.m. on March 29 in Yoder Recital Hall.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature a variety of creative arts including music, scenes from “Demo” a play written by senior Brianna Lugibihl, excerpts from “Beaver Monologues” and poetry readings by “Bridge” literary journal writers.
Bluffton’s civic engagement theme for 2016-17 is “Creativity, the Arts and Civic Life.” Each year’s theme is a contemporary issue that is related to the university’s mission and becomes the subject of cross-disciplinary exploration throughout the academic year.
