Edith Burkholder 1924 - 2017
Edith Lenore Burkholder, 92, died March 18, 2017, at 3:15 a.m. at Lima Convalescent Home. Edith was born June 21, 1924, in Columbus Grove to the late Jesse and Helen (Moore) Lentz. She married Jim Burkholder who preceded him in death on April 17, 1993.
She had worked at Terry's in Bluffton and Northland Lanes in Lima.
Survivors include five children, Steven Burkholder of Liberty Center, Douglas (Kim) Kohlhorst of Liberty Center, Debra (Greg) Blakeley of Hinesville, Georgia, Darrel (June) Kohlhorst of Knoxville, Tennessee, Dianna (Butch) Kohls of Lima; three step children, Dave (Linda) Burkholder of St. Marys, Dr. Henry (Elaine) Burkholder of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Beth Klay of Lima, 21 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by a son, Darwin Kohlhorst; a grandson, Darren Kohlhorst; three sisters, Louise, Charlotte and Beatrice; two brothers, Richard and Junior Lentz; and a step-son, John Klay.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Tim Wilmetti officiating. Burial will be in Reformed Mennonite Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until time of the service at the funeral home.
