Relax, new bleachers promised by graduation
It's standing-room only in the Bluffton High School gym. But that won't last long.
This winter, the Bluffton school board voted to replace the original bleachers in the high school gymnasium.
The board accepted a contract totaling $199,500 for materials and installation of the bleachers. The contract is with Hussey Seating Co., and Farnham Equipment Co.
The bleachers removed earlier this month were nearly 30 years old and in need of repair.
The next step in the project is for the gymnasium walls to be repainted. According to Alex Hanna, BHS athletic director, new bleacher installation should begin in early May.
