Candace Downing, daughter of Craig and Lynn Downing of Columbus Grove, was awarded this year's Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship. She will attend Wright State University school of nursing in the fall.

The Auxiliary established a one-time $500 scholarship for an area student entering into a health/medical field of study.

To be eligible, the applicant must be a senior at an area high school and ranked in the top one-third of the class.

The winner is also awarded on the basis of high school records, including participation and leadership roles in extra-curricular activities in and outside of school.
