ALL youth class deadline nears
The application deadline for next year’s Allen Lima Youth Leadership Class of 2018 is approaching, ALL Executive Director Heather Rutz said.
Students must apply online at AllenLimaLeadership.com by May 31 to be eligible for next year’s youth class.
Bluffton students in the class of 2017 were Sydney Hoff, Kayla Kindle, Rameen Omar and Aimee Ritter.
Bluffton students in the class of 2016 were Haley Baker, Jadyn Barhorst and Zane Myers.
Allen Lima Youth Leadership is presented in partnership with Lima Rotary Foundation and Lima Memorial Health System. It is a county-wide youth leadership program designed for 35 high school sophomores and juniors (fall of 2017) who are enrolled in any school located within Allen County, or who are homeschooled in the county.
The program actively involves, educates and challenges youth to reach their fullest potential as leaders. It also provides an opportunity for students from the area schools to meet and interact with one another.
Allen Lima Youth Leadership provides the opportunity to:
· learn more about how the Lima/Allen County community works
· understand and accept civic responsibilities
· acquire skills such as coalition building, communication and visioning
· respond to concerns in their community with service projects.
The class spends four full Fridays out of school on themed days, such as team building and public service. The course is free, thanks to partnerships with Lima Rotary Foundation and Lima Memorial Health System. Competition for the course is significant, as ALL typically receives three times as many applications as selected candidates, Rutz said.
Students must apply at www.AllenLimaLeadership.com . Applicants must have their completed applications submitted by May 31. For more information please contact Heather Rutz at 419-222-2711.
Allen Lima Leadership (ALL) is a county-wide leadership program that develops adult and youth leaders for our community. Learn more about the organization at www.AllenLimaLeadership.com .
