Three performances this week held in conjunction with art exhibit
Three concerts are planned this week in Sauder Visual Arts Center on the Bluffton University campus. Each concert is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick.
The performances are connected to "From Swords to Plowshares," art exhibit in the center.
Performing on Thursday is Doug Adams. Performing on Friday is Chappell-Dick. Performing on Saturday are Adams and Chappell-Dick. Saturday's performance is a sing-along.
"All of the songs are about transforming violence to peace, and are gathered in the spirit of the art exhibit," said Chappell-Dick.
"From Swords to Plowshares; Our Process of Transformation..." is a multi-media art exhibition responding to the RAWtools event in June, where a blacksmith forged garden tools out of local guns.
Twenty-five artists have shared from their collection or created new work on the theme of transformation from violence to peace. The garden tools created at RAWtools are also on display.
View the show in the Grace Albrecht gallery of the Sauder Visual Arts Center at Bluffton University until July 30, Thursday -Sunday, 2-5 p.m.
