Harry "Bill" Snyder was retired from Ford engine plant
Harry "Bill" Edward Snyder, 89, died July 29, 2017, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.Harry "Bill" was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Beaverdam, to Lawrence and Margaret (Bickmier) Snyder who preceded him in death.
On Feb. 22, 1948, he married Josephine Bassitt Snyder who preceded him in death on June 8, 1988. Bill retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant where he was a Hi-Lo driver. He enjoyed music, woodworking, his grandchildren and riding the 4-wheeler with them.
Survivors include: three daughters; Janet A. (Brian) Stark of Powell, Ohio, Joyce (Russ) Sealscott of Bluffton, Anita (Willie) Cox of Lima, eight grandchildren; Ann (John) Carroll, Michael (Angie) Burkholder, Matthew (Melissa) Burkholder, Sherrie (Michael) Sloan, Michelle Hardesty, Tracey (Byron) Phillips, Jason (Shannon) Cox, Kendra (Scott) Hershberger, 13 great-grandchildren, eight great- great- grandchildren, and a niece Cynthia Sue Moser of Lima.
Preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Moser, and a half-sister, Margie Shawl.
Services will be held Chiles-Laman funeral & Cremation Service, Bluffton, on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
